KPI Usage and Goal Setting

Key Performance Indicators, KPIs, can be complex to select and use. Making the wrong choice of KPI or using KPIs poorly can have disastrous consequences for individuals, teams and organisations; however, making effective use of KPIs can allow strategic decisions to be made, performance and quality to be increased, problems to be avoided and much more.

This course will provide attendees with everything they need for understanding and using KPIs and associated areas including KRAs, CSFs and OKRs.

Objectives:​

The objectives of the course are:​

1. To understand the meaning, nature and uses of different KPIs including those focusing on finances and returns, quality, customers, employees and more.

2. To know and be able to use the different types of KPIs in the workplace including KPIs for inputs, processes and outputs as well as lagging and leading KPIs.

3. To be able to use a range of tools and structures in order to select and set KPIs including selection matrices and KPI trees.

4. To avoid fundamental issues in KPI selection and potentially catastrophic errors in KPI setting and usage. 

5. To be better able to track, record, report, monitor and analyse KPIs and evaluate dashboards. 

6. To understand and be able to use key related concepts such as CSFs, KRAs, OKRs and KRIs. 

7. To form plans for application of the training at work and better use of KPIs in your own workplace.
